Non-playable heroes are a significant part of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Once unlocked, they can be freely switched in and out of your party to suit your needs and help bolster your six core protagonists as a seventh team member. Each hero introduces a new class complete with unique moves, buffs, and specials that can be equipped to any of your fighters once unlocked.
Some hero classes are straightforward fighter/healer/defender types, while others are hybrids, combining roles like healer and fighter for greater flexibility. These heroes are essential to your success, especially in battles against powerful bosses and legendary foes.
How To Unlock Access To Hero Classes
When you recruit a hero, one of your protagonists will be assigned as that hero’s Class Inheritor. For instance, Noah inherits Ethel’s Flash Fencer class and can use it immediately.
For other characters, access to a hero’s class requires having that hero in your squad during battles. Progress can be tracked in the Characters > Class menu screen, where icons fill up as characters earn access. Once unlocked, classes become available for ranking and equipping.
Nopon Coins, found in golden containers, can be used to rank up classes quickly without relying on class points (CP) earned in battle.
